Open Up Your Property with Professional Trail Systems

If you own wooded land in Oklahoma, you know that thick undergrowth can make it nearly impossible to walk through, let alone enjoy. Overgrown brush, low-hanging branches, fallen logs, and dense saplings turn what should be a beautiful forest into an impenetrable thicket. Trail clearing changes that by opening up clean, navigable paths through your timber — giving you access to parts of your property you may not have seen in years.

4CWM LLC cuts trails using our forestry mulching equipment, which grinds brush, small trees, and undergrowth into a smooth mulch surface right on the trail bed. The result is a clean, naturally surfaced trail that is ready to use immediately — no raking, no hauling, no additional surface material needed. The mulch layer provides a firm, comfortable walking or riding surface and suppresses regrowth.

Trail Types We Build

Hiking and walking trails — Single-track or wider paths for walking, jogging, and nature hikes. Typically 4–6 feet wide with a natural mulch surface. We can route trails to scenic overlooks, ponds, creek crossings, and other natural features on your property.

Mountain biking trails — Single-track or flow trails sized for mountain bikes, with turns, grade changes, and sight lines appropriate for the skill level you want to accommodate. We clear the corridor and smooth the surface so riders get a clean, rideable trail from day one.

ATV and side-by-side trails — Wider corridors (8–12 feet) cleared and graded for off-road vehicles. These trails give you vehicle access to remote areas of your property for hunting, land management, and recreation.

Horseback riding trails — Cleared paths with adequate overhead clearance and stable footing for horses. We remove low-hanging branches, saplings, and ground obstacles that could spook or injure horses.

Property access trails — Functional access paths to hunting stands, ponds, fence lines, and remote structures. These are utility trails designed to get you where you need to go efficiently.

Benefits of Professional Trail Clearing

Increase your usable property — A trail system opens up your entire acreage for recreation and enjoyment. Land you could not walk through becomes accessible.

Improve property value — Well-maintained trail systems significantly increase the appeal and market value of rural recreational properties.

Better land management — Access trails make it easier to monitor your property, check fence lines, manage wildlife, and respond to problems like fallen trees or flooding.

Fire safety — Cleared trails double as firebreaks and emergency access routes during wildfire season.

Real Scenarios We Solve

A Mayes County landowner with 60 acres of timber wanted a network of ATV trails so he could access his deer stands, pond, and back fence line without fighting through brush. We cut over 6 miles of 10-foot-wide trails looping through the property, mulched the surface smooth, and installed two low-water creek crossings. He went from using about 5 acres to having full access to all 60.

In Washington County, a ranch owner wanted a 2-mile hiking and horseback riding loop for guests at a private retreat property. The terrain was hilly with dense understory. We routed the trail to follow ridgelines for scenic views, cleared a 6-foot-wide path with high overhead clearance for riders, and graded the steeper sections so horses could navigate them safely.

A Haskell County mountain biking enthusiast bought 15 acres of rocky Ouachita foothills and wanted to build a single-track trail system. We cleared just over 3 miles of narrow trail winding through the timber, working around boulders and natural terrain features to create a challenging ride. The mulched surface was rideable the same week.
